Chief Marketing & Public Affairs Officer, Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice

As a member of Samaritan’s senior leadership team, Rosen provides leadership and oversight for all marketing and public affairs operations to support Samaritan’s mission, vision and strategic goals. Samaritan is a community-based, not-for-profit provider serving the southern New Jersey region. Samaritan provides home-based primary care, palliative medicine, hospice care, and grief support services for nearly 11,000 patients and families each year.

Rosen and her team support increased access to Samaritan services through strategic marketing, communications, engagement, and community partnerships. Rosen leads the advancement of Samaritan’s Commitment to Inclusion, Diversity & Access. She oversees the organization’s legislative and government affairs, advocating for the advancement of serious illness care at the state and federal levels. Rosen also serves as a liaison to the Board of Trustees and the Executive, Strategic Planning, Inclusion & Diversity, and Governance committees.

Rosen serves as liaison for Samaritan’s global partnership with Kawempe Home Care, in Kampala, Uganda. Kawempe provides free medical care to people with HIV/AIDS, TB, and cancer; access to treatment, palliative care, and accommodations for children with cancer; and income-generating programs to support self-sufficiency.

Joanne joined the organization in 1994 as Samaritan’s first director of marketing, eventually expanding her role to vice president of marketing and development, and later to chief marketing and public affairs officer. Joanne holds a bachelor’s degree from Glassboro State College (Rowan University).
