Little Hospice Hoima is located in Hoima, Uganda. Their mission is to support affordable, suitable, and accessible palliative care to those in need in Uganda. Little Hospice Hoima is a branch of Hospice Africa Uganda (HAU) and primarily serves the rural poor in the Albertine area of Western Uganda. In addition to caring for nearly 6,000 patients through affordable home-based care, Little Hospice Hoima facilitates a daycare program and bereavement program for families suffering the loss of a loved one. They are partners with the Palliative Care Association of Uganda (PCAU) and the African Palliative Care Association (APCA). Their main sources of funding are individual sponsors and local community charities. In entering a partnership, they hope to increase visibility of their work with patients in a resource-limited setting on the international scene. They also want to strengthen and leverage financial and non-financial resources to enhance research, education, advocacy, and sensitization programs. Overall through the partnership program, they hope to engage in mutual sharing and learning in order to continuously improve their services in Uganda.
