The Selian Hospice and Palliative Care program is committed to providing palliative care services to people with life threatening illnesses with the compassion and love of Jesus Christ. Its vision is “Access to quality Palliative Care for all in Tanzania.’’ Working hand-in-hand with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania, the program has reached more than 4,500 clients through home visits and day cares. The program also provides group training to health professionals and non-health professionals on introductory palliative care and hospice services. They promote income generating activities once a year to improve the quality of life of patients and their families living with life threatening illnesses. As a partner, Selian Hospice hopes to improve the impact of their program through evidence-based program design, delivery and evaluation. They are also eager to collaborate with their partner to help address the social and economic needs of patients with chronic illness and their families. They are located in Arusha, Tanzania, and want to ensure that their program will be adequately supported and sustained. For more information, please visit: www.selianhospice.or.tz.
