Stacy Orloff, PhD

Vice President, Innovation and Community Health at Suncoast Hospice (Empath Health)

Dr. Stacy Orloff has worked at Empath Health/Suncoast Hospice for over 28 years.  She chairs the organization’s partnership with HospiceWits located in Soweto and Johannesburg, South Africa. Orloff has led four trips of Empath Health staff to HospiceWits as well as coordinating multiple trips to the US by their South African partners. This partnership was one of the early FHSSA partnerships, begun in 2000.  In her role at Empath Health, Orloff oversees EPIC, an AIDS Service Organization.  EPIC is the result of the merger of two very successful long term ASOs.  EPIC is the largest provider of direct care to HIV positive individuals in its service area.  Stacy Is also recognized as a national expert in pediatric hospice and palliative care.  She has invested much of her professional career in ensuring access to care for ill children and their families. Her expertise is reflected in the significant amount of national training she has conducted as well published articles and books. Orloff also provides executive leadership to Empath Health’s Community Counseling program, a program that provides trauma based counseling to individuals of all ages and families impacted by the sudden and traumatic death of a loved one. Additional services include crisis intervention, support groups and retreats. Orloff has a master’s Degree in Social Work and a doctorate degree in Organizational Leadership.
